The Cubs play their final Cactus League game today at Sloan Park against the Oakland Athletics at 1:05 pm AZ time. The team will then fly to Houston for a couple exhibition games against the Astros before making their way to St. Louis to start the season on April 2 against the Cardinals.
I always have mixed feelings each season on the day of the Cubs final spring game. On one hand, I’m super stoked for the regular season to begin, on the other hand, the Cubs leave Mesa and my day-to-day time with the team comes to a close. Another yearly Sheridan Spring Break ends and it’s back to the real world. That bittersweet feeling lasts about a day for me, by opening day, I’m all in! And what a team to be all in on, World Series Champions going for a second straight title in 2017.
In life and baseball, we don’t know what the future holds, so I’m going to give a little extra emphasis today when I say: Good Afternoon Ladies and Gentleman and welcome to sunny Mesa’s Sloan Park, spring training home of your WORLD SERIES CHAMPION CHICAGO CUBS!!
2017 has been a Cubs spring to remember and it looks like that will manifest itself in another spring training MLB record setting home attendance figure for the Cubs at Sloan Park.
Here are John Antonoff’s photos from yesterday’s Cubs 10-7 loss to the Giants at Sloan Park. Go Cubs!

Hello Tim:
Seems like we were just getting over fantasy cub games and now it is over for Cubs spring games. These events move so fast, but ready for live games. Should be a lot of fun this year and hope cubs can stay healthy. Have a great summer and hope to see you in Jan. 2018.
