The Cubs finished yesterday’s game in a 4-4 nine inning tie against the White Sox with 14,621 in attendance at Sloan Park. Rain was coming down off-and-on over the last several innings, so it was kind of a forgone conclusion there would be no extra frame.
In the past I would regularly write up game summaries but I’m not doing that much anymore. The Cubs and MLB have great coverage of every game, and many of the Cubs fan blogs have someone who has either moved to Arizona or are here for the spring games. The fan blogs do a great job of giving you the rundown on the games, with a little different perspective. Think Cubs Den’s John Arguello and Bleed Cubbie Blue’s Al Yellon.
Here at Boys of Spring you’ll get my personal take on things during spring training. You can also expect BOS to have outstanding photos and video of our favorite team that you won’t see anywhere else. My opinions here are my own and do not reflect any official views expressed by the Chicago Cubs organization.
The rain is clearing this morning, so it should be a fine day for baseball. The Cubs take on the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim today at Sloan Park, game time 1:05 pm AZ time. Here are the photos of yesterday’s game by our John Antonoff. Enjoy and Go Cubs!
