Cubs bring the whooping sticks

By Tim Sheridan
March 23, 2009

Talk about fun, it was a great day to just be a fan watching the Cubs smack around the A’s at Phoenix Muni. The A’s stadium was packed to near capacity (7,994) with a very large portion of those being Cubs fans who enjoyed a 24 hit attack that produced a 20 to 5 Cubs victory on a sunny and slightly cool AZ day(64 degrees at game time). Somewhat lost in the hitting barrage was a solid performance by Ryan Dempster who went 4.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 3 hits while whiffing 6 Athletics.

I’ll let some of the photos I took today take over from here…enjoy.
