The Cubs got the spring season going over the weekend, pounding the A’s 12 – 2 at Sloan Park on Saturday and losing in Glendale, AZ to the Dodgers 4 – 2 yesterday .  The other big Cubs news this weekend was the debut of the Marquee Network on Saturday. The Marquee’s launch was apparently a mixed bag, staring with the issue of who can actually access the network.

You can find reviews of the Marquee network’s launch all over the internet, from scathing, to the winners and losers, to the pros and cons laced with fans Twitter responses.

Saturday’s game at Sloan Park was pushed back from a 1:10 pm (AZ time ) start time, to 6:10 pm (AZ time) because of rain. This turned out to be a wise choice, as 6 of 8 afternoon Cactus League games were cancelled due to the weather. The rain is long gone now and the current Mesa 10-Day weather report looks great for baseball!

The Cubs will be playing the Mariners in Peoria today and then back at Sloan Park tomorrow against the Rockies. Here are some photos from the weekend’s action.
