The Cubs played some long-ball again today as Luis Valbuena hit a two-run HR, and Edwin Maysonet added a three-run shot as the Cubs White squad beat the Cubs Blue 6-3 at Hohokam Stadium. Brett Jackson looked good with his new adjusted swing, going 3-3 for the Blue team. Cubs new pitcher Kyuji Fujikawa saw action today, tossing a shutout inning.
Tomorrow the Cubs kickoff the Cactus League season as they play the Angels in Tempe, Travis Wood will be the starting pitcher for the Cubs. Tomorrow morning I’ll be posting a cinema verite retrospective of the Cubs final camp ever at Fitch Park. Here are photos from today’s game, shot by John Antonoff.
