Eddie Vedder Sings ‘All the Way’ The Day Ernie Banks Passed On

Five years ago on this day, Chicago Cubs legend Ernie Banks passed away. Less than 24 hours after that, Pearl Jam front-man Eddie Vedder, sang a heartfelt version of his Cubs tribute song ‘All The Way.’ A song that Ernie Banks asked Vedder to write. I was there for that emotional rendition from Eddie and filmed it. Notice, Eddie changes some of the lyrics in this version. The song and video are very meaningful to me, as much now, as when I filmed that emotional moment in time. Less than two years later, the Cubs won the World Series – RIP Ernie!
