Music For The Cause

During baseball’s regular season I do most of my online talking about the Cubs over on my Boys of Spring – Wrigleyville West Facebook page. Part of the reason is, when the Cubs leave Mesa at the end of spring training I go back to my real world…work, family, etc. My spring break with the Cubs ends and I become a regular fan who lives 1800 miles from Chicago. Even so, it was somewhat shocking when I realized the last time I blogged here was after the Cubs opening night win over the Angels in Anaheim. Now almost six months later we are hurtling towards the playoffs with the Cubs owning the best record in the majors with 101 wins. The 101 regular season wins is something the Cubs haven’t achieved since 1910! Yup, almost as long as, well…you know.

Like the rest of Cubs Universe I’m stoked at the opportunity for our team to win it all, because – this is the year! Opportunity is the key word because here’s your opportunity to help a great cause and get a cool Cubs song! For the first time ever we are offering the original Cubs rock anthem, Clear The Way  for digital download…but what’s more important, for the next 10 days (through October 8, including the Cubs first two playoff games) ALL PROCEEDS from every download will go to the Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation! This is a win, win! You get a cool Cubs rock song for $1.29 and help the Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation fight cancer.

Anthony and his foundation work very hard to help eradicate cancer, in particular childhood cancer. YOU can help us in that fight! I feel incredibly lucky and blessed to have announced the spring public address for the Cubs all these years, and this is a way for me (and you) to give back. If you haven’t heard the song, here is a link to a video I recently edited to Clear The Way  on YouTube. Cubs announcers Len Kasper and Pat Hughes (background narration on video) won’t be on the download version due to legal restrictions.

hashtag-clear-the-way-eCubs fans are like a big family and the power of Cubs fans together can make a huge difference in so many lives! We are using the hashtag #ClearTheWay4Kids, so please buy a download and pass this along to all Cubs fans and everyone who can help the fight! I’ll be updating the progress of our fundraiser regularly over the next 10 days. Use the Buy Now button below to download the song for $1.29 (feel free to donate more if you are able) and help the Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation fight pediatric cancer!
