Lake Leaps, but Cubs Lose

By Tim Sheridan
March 20, 2014

Not a lot of excitement for the Cubs today, as they lost to the Mariners 3-0 in front of 15,243 fans at Cubs Park. That attendance number was another Cactus League single game attendance record at Cubs Park this spring. Jeff Samardzija pitched well, allowing  2 runs on 6 hits in 5.1 innings pitched, he struck out 8, while walking 2. The Cubs only had 4 hits, but did have a couple nice defensive plays, including Junior Lake stealing a HR from Logan Morrison in the 6th inning. BOS’s John Antonoff captures Lake’s leap and grab in the photo below.

The Cubs travel to Glendale tomorrow to take on the White Sox.
