Full-Squad First Day Photos, and A Place to Stay

A short practice yesterday to begin the first Cubs official spring full-squad workouts at Sloan Park. Manager Joe Maddon wants to start spring camp at an easy pace, while having his players focus on fundamentals. Maddon also brought out the “Embrace the Target” philosophy yesterday. Wanting the team to start looking at things from the standpoint of an MLB favorite, or hunted team, as opposed to last season when the Cubs were clearly the hunters. It’s certainly a different mindset, but one that the team appears to embrace.

If you are coming to Mesa to see the Cubs for spring training and looking for a place to stay, here’s a condo that just came available during March. If you like your own space, at a much better price than most hotels, you’ll want to check this out. It’s only a short drive up Dobson Rd. to the Sloan Park complex. Here’s the link.

Here are some photos from BOS photog John Antonoff. Go Cubs!
