The Cubs begin their Cactus League schedule today against the Angels in Tempe, but here’s my look back at this year’s final Fitch Park experience. Next year the Cubs will be at the new spring training complex about two miles west of Fitch. The team will continue to use the current facility until they move to the new complex, sometime around October of 2014. However, this was the final spring for the major league players at Fitch, after spending the last 34 years at this facility. If you never got out to see the Cubs at cozy Fitch Park, I hope this video provides a feel for what it was like. This is a cinema verite montage of the 10 days the team spent a Fitch before moving over to Hohokam stadium this past Wednesday. The piece is 8:47 seconds. Go Cubs!!
